One of the largest living history events in the Midwest takes place 1-2 October
The Big Island Rendezvous is one of the largest, and coolest, living history events in the upper Midwest. It takes place on 1-2 October this year.
The Big Island Rendezvous is a great event for anyone wanting to learn about our nation's history.
Big Island boasts four separate encampments with over 1,200 reenactors. The four encampments include Fur Traders Period, Early American Frontier, Civil War Era, and Pioneer Settlement.
Each encampment brings their own taste of history. From cannon and musket demonstrations, pelt tanning, shoe making, managing a spear, candle making, blacksmithing, period appropriate games, and many more activities the event is a joy for families and the historian in all of us.
A main stage runs all day with music groups, dancers, history lessons and entertainers.
The Big Island Rendezvous is a great event for those that want to learn about our past.
